The Integrity of God

THE INTEGRITY OF GOD

We are in a world where commitments can be fleeting and promises easily broken. Where values can sometimes seem elusive, and in the midst of these uncertainties and challenges, finding a trustworthy anchor becomes crucial. Are you disappointed by something, someone or an organization and you don't know who or what to trust ? Let me tell you the trustworthy anchor is found in the unwavering integrity of God.

The integrity of God, as depicted in His word, is a compelling source of reassurance and enduring trust for everyone seeking solace in the midst of life's complexities.

There are three Hebrew words which relate to integrity:  “tamim”, “tom” and “tam”.

The concept of God's integrity is often expressed through the term "תמים" (tamim), emphasizing God's perfect and unblemished nature. It reflects the idea that God is whole, without any moral flaws or imperfections.

Integrity refers to the quality of being honest and morally upright. It involves consistency in actions, values, methods, measures and principles. A person of integrity is trustworthy, reliable, faithful and possess an unwavering commitment.

Numbers 23:19 tells us, "God is not human, that he should lie, not a son of man, that he should change his mind". This verse shows us on who we have to rely; He is not a man subject to circumstances that can cause him to lie or change His mind.

God has integrity, because He lacks the capacity to fail. God has power to accomplish what He says and promises. When He send His word, he release it with power to accomplish its goal and prosper on its assignment. So, you can rely on God, and His word always accomplish what He sent it to do.

WHY YOU SHOULD RELY ON GOD:

1. God's Unchanging and Consistent Character:

One of the cornerstones of understanding God's integrity lies in recognizing the unchanging nature of His character and consistency. In the book of Malachi 3:6, it is written, "I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed." Hebrews 13:8 boldly declares, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." These verses shows the reliability of God's character, providing a firm foundation for trust. In a world where circumstances can swiftly alter, loyalties can shift like the sands, relying on God (whose character remains unchanging and constant) becomes an anchor for navigating life's uncertainties.

2. Faithfulness and Promises

The Bible is filled with promises made by God to His people, and the fulfillment of these promises serves as a testament to His faithfulness. Psalm 145:13 declares, "The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does."

2 Corinthians 1:20 resonates with this theme, stating, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ."

This assurance invites us to rely on God's promises, trusting that He will fulfill them in His perfect timing.

When God declares something, it comes to pass as evidence of His reliability.

Psalm 89:34 declares, "I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered." God's faithfulness to His covenant is a testament to His unwavering commitment, showcasing His integrity in keeping His promises.

3. Truthfulness

Titus 1:2 asserts, "God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time." This shows the absolute truthfulness of God, emphasizing that His words are trustworthy and dependable.

In conclusion, in a world where trust can be a scarce commodity, God's integrity is the bedrock upon which you can build your trust.

The Difference between Iniquity, Sin and Transgressions

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INIQUITY, SIN, AND TRANSGRESSION?  In Psalm 32:5, the psalmist says, "I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD."  In this portion, “SIN,” “INIQUITY,” and “TRANSGRESSION” are all mentioned. All three words are used to describe the same basic concept: evil and lawlessness, as defined by God (see 1 John 3:4). However, upon closer examination, each word also carries a slightly different meaning. *SIN The word SIN and its cognates are used 786 times in Bible. From a Hebrew perspective, sin "chet" is defined as "missing the mark" of God's will and standard of righteousness or "falling short."  It can refer to doing something against God or against a person (Exodus 10:16), doing the opposite of what is right (Galatians 5:17), doing something that will have negative results (Proverbs 24:33–34), and failing to do something you know is right (Jam...

Start Your Week With Purpose

STARTING the WEEK with PURPOSE  Beloved in Christ, A new week has begun, and with it comes new opportunities, new challenges, and a fresh start. But how do we ensure that we are not just going through the motions of life? How do we step into this week with purpose, diligence, and a kingdom mindset? Let me take you to a familiar yet powerful Bible story, the story of Joseph. Joseph’s life was marked by hardships, betrayals, and delays. Yet, despite all this, he remained a man of purpose, working diligently in every situation he found himself in. When Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers (Genesis 37:28), he could have given up. He could have become bitter and lazy, doing just enough to survive. But instead, he worked faithfully as a servant in Potiphar’s house.  Joseph didn’t just do his work; he did it with excellence, even in a place where he was unjustly placed. Because of his diligence, he was promoted. But then came another setback, Potiphar’s wife falsely ac...
