THE CORROSIVE NATURE OF JEALOUSY  I. Introduction  What you don't know can cause harm to many, including yourself. Jealousy is one of the things that destroy lives of people, even the born again Christian. That is why it is important to study this subject with an open heart, so that we can identify if we are among jealous people or victims of jealousy. I. 1. Definition Jealousy is a multifaceted and often misunderstood emotion. In the Bible, jealousy is portrayed as both a human emotion and a divine attribute, with distinct connotations depending on its context and motivation. The word for jealousy is "קִנְאָה" (kin'ah) in Hebrew. This term encompasses a range of emotions from envy to zeal, reflecting both the negative and positive nature of jealousy.  I. 1.1. Jealousy (kin'ah) is depicted as a sinful and destructive force, rooted in selfishness, insecurity, and pride. It is associated with envy, bitterness, and resentment, leading to strife, conflict, and even ...

The Difference between Iniquity, Sin and Transgressions

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INIQUITY, SIN, AND TRANSGRESSION?  In Psalm 32:5, the psalmist says, "I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD."  In this portion, “SIN,” “INIQUITY,” and “TRANSGRESSION” are all mentioned. All three words are used to describe the same basic concept: evil and lawlessness, as defined by God (see 1 John 3:4). However, upon closer examination, each word also carries a slightly different meaning. *SIN The word SIN and its cognates are used 786 times in Bible. From a Hebrew perspective, sin "chet" is defined as "missing the mark" of God's will and standard of righteousness or "falling short."  It can refer to doing something against God or against a person (Exodus 10:16), doing the opposite of what is right (Galatians 5:17), doing something that will have negative results (Proverbs 24:33–34), and failing to do something you know is right (Jam...

Bad Thoughts

This is something that many people do not know, even though it is one of the things that God does not like.  Evil thoughts are among the causes that caused the Lord to send the flood on the earth. Men were animated by wickedness and the thoughts of their hearts were daily turned to evil. "He who closes his eyes to indulge in evil thoughts, He who bites his lips, has already consummated evil." Proverbs 16:30 My brothers and sisters, let everything that is true, everything that is honorable, everything that is just, everything that is pure, everything that is lovable, everything that is worthy of approval, everything that is virtuous and worthy of praise, be the object of your thoughts, because sin remains sin even if you entertain it alone in your mind. Share this, because you can save a soul. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063764588046&mibextid=ZbWKwL Prophet Holly van

Seek God first

SEEK GOD FIRST  In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to get caught up in various pursuits; from career ambitions to personal goals. However, as Christians, it is a must for us to seek God first.  The Hebrew word for "Seek" (“baqash”) means to search out with a striving or desire. His “face”- “His presence”. To inquire or seek diligently. It often implies seeking with the intention of finding or understanding. The Hebrew word for "first" ("ri'shôn") refers to being the initial or primary in order, time, or importance. It signifies placing something or someone at the forefront. In Hebrew, when we say "seek God first," it implies diligently searching for and inquiring about God with the intention of making Him the primary focus and priority in our lives. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SEEK GOD?    To seek God first means we turn to Him before anyone or anything else for help, guidance, wisdom, and setting priorities. When we seek God first, w...

THE INTEGRITY OF GOD  We are in a world where commitments can be fleeting and promises easily broken. Where values can sometimes seem elusive, and in the midst of these uncertainties and challenges, finding a trustworthy anchor becomes crucial. Are you disappointed by something, someone or an organization and you don't know who or what to trust ? Let me tell you the trustworthy anchor is found in the unwavering integrity of God.  The integrity of God, as depicted in His word, is a compelling source of reassurance and enduring trust for everyone seeking solace in the midst of life's complexities. There are three Hebrew words which relate to integrity:  “tamim”, “tom” and “tam”. The concept of God's integrity is often expressed through the term "תמים" (tamim), emphasizing God's perfect and unblemished nature. It reflects the idea that God is whole, without any moral flaws or imperfections.  Integrity refers to the quality of being honest and morally upright. I...

Faith in God's Plan

Life is a journey filled with twists, turns, unexpected detours, valleys and mountains. To succeed in life, everyone has to follow a plan. God, as a loving Creator, knowing that the devil will fight mankind, created men with a divine plan to follow. It is only in this divine plan that men can rule on the earth and over Satan ( if you want to know more, check in my book THE DOOR OF SALVATION). In the midst of uncertainties, chaos and bad outcomes, you have to find which plan are you following; your own, the devil's or God's plan.  The Hebrew word "תַּכְנִית" (tachnit) is used to convey the concept of a plan or a scheme. It generally refers to a predetermined course of action, design, or intention. It encapsulates the idea of a deliberate and organized direction for the unfolding of events according to God's will. The fall of humanity show us clearly the consequences of not having faith in God's plan. Until today, after redemption, many people still ask ques...

In the Beginning: GOD!

In the grand narrative of the Bible, the opening words resound with profound significance: "In the beginning, God..." (Genesis 1:1). These initial words set the tone for the entirety of Scripture, emphasizing the preeminence of God in the creation of the universe.  If we want to see the mighty right hand of God in action (in our favor), we are called to recognize the importance of placing God first in our lives. Just as God initiated the creation of the world, we are urged to allow Him to be the starting point and the one who starts everything we do. In doing so, we open ourselves to the divine guidance that leads to true success, greatness and fulfillment. GOD AS THE CREATOR AND INITIATOR : Before anything else existed, God was present, orchestrating the cosmos with intentionality. In our pursuits for success and greatness, acknowledging God as the ultimate creator and Initiator positions Him at the forefront of our endeavors.  Putting God first involves seeking His will in ...
